What can you expect when you work with me?
I approach therapy as an opportunity to be trusted with a person, couple, or family’s inner and outer worlds. When I’m in the room with you, my attention and energy is focused on understanding you, supporting you, and challenging you.
My clients appreciate my direct communication style, my tendency toward being transparent and collaborative, and my sense of humor. My job is not to tell you who you are; it is to help you get to who you want to be.
My therapy approach is heavily informed by family systems theories, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. I have additionally completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I use a trauma-informed and trauma-competent approach to all therapy I provide.
I am rooted in the belief that all humans are valuable, worthy, and deserving of respect and equal treatment. I am a sex-positive, poly- and kink-friendly therapist. I regularly engage in formal and informal education regarding anti-racism and anti-bias.
You can expect me to be intentional, goal-oriented, and structured with my overall therapy approach, while also being flexible and collaborative about the way we reach those goals and how to ensure you feel you’re spending your time in therapy working on what’s most important.

I have experience both as a clinician as well as an administrator, providing program development and management to intensive outpatient programs, as well as operating in a leadership role.
I have taught courses at my alma mater, Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR, in the Graduate School of Education and Counseling, with particular focus on courses designed to teach and enhance the clinical skills of future therapists.
